James has taught well over 1000 people how to play guitar over the course of ten years, if you are ages 8 and up he would love to have you as a student. James has helped students successfully prepare for Berkeley and broadway auditions, and is the most sought out teacher in his area. Feel free to send an email with any questions before you sign up. I received my first guitar for my 21st birthday from my parents and after 30+ years and numerous teachers and attempts and learning to play. I finally decided to give it up and put my guitar away. A few years later, by chance, I was singing in a band and decided to try harmonica lessons and after a few lessons realized it just was not for me and as luck would have it a friend of mine who is a luthier asked if he could take my guitar home and set it up for me and when he brought it back I decided to switch to guitar lessons and give it one more try It turned out that James was the teacher I needed. Although it helps that we have a lot of the same taste in music but, it goes much further than that as I did not just want to learn how to play some chords, I wanted to really learn and understand the guitar and James is the perfect Instructor for both As everyone else on here wrote, he is extremely patient, unbelievably positive and an excellent communicator. When they say those who can’t play teach, they clearly did not know James because he is equally proficient at teaching the guitar and music as he is playing it regardless of genre James is somebody that has an unmatched passion for the guitar and a desire to learn it inside and out. Recognizing that he will never master it only makes him work that much harder at trying to do so. Seriously, I could not recommend James more highly. He is truly a person of great integrity, Patience and outstanding talent And after over six years and easily over 1000 hours of lessons I am finally achieving something I dreamt about as a little kid opening up kiss destroyer, but never thought I would accomplish and that is a testament to James because even when I feel like I have two left hands he always finds the positive and gets me back up and motivated again Anyhow I have to get back to work learning this Judas Priest song that I could never imagine in my wildest dreams I would be able to play if not for James I can’t thank him enough!
